I wanted to hang out and write. I didn’t get to hang out, but I did write 2,000 words about the dogs and a series of unfortunate decisions.
No rabbits (or dogs) were harmed in the writing of this post, or in the events which led up to it.
Today was my first day off in almost six weeks. As a nice treat to myself, I thought I’d shut down the computer and go write in my monster backyard for a change.

HYF and Pitsenji both have ringworm 😦 — just like with little kids, by the time you notice it, they all have it. Senior Dog escaped it, thankfully – probably because he doesn’t wrestle like the other two. Continue reading
I’ve heard people give impassioned arguments on both sides: “Treats mean better behavior!” “Dogs should respond to our commands just because they love us!” I do understand that second impulse…but dogs aren’t people, and while they can be quite comfortable in our spaces they simply don’t have human responses to stimuli. Not funny, dude.
So I’ve been working on the computer all day, which makes the dogs desperate for attention.
Petting is pretty much first come, first served around here but if the whole damn pack comes over for attention at the same time, it goes in order of seniority: Senior Dog, Pitsenji, Hate You Forever.
